Travel Scholarships
A limited number of travel scholarships are currently available for individuals and groups. The group application is primarily intended for groups traveling in buses, however we will consider applications that put forth alternative group transportation methods. If you are traveling in groups of 10 or fewer, or if your method of travel requires individual ticket purchases (plane, train, etc.), complete the individual travel scholarship application.
Travel Scholarships will be selected on a rolling basis, and determined using the following criteria, which are listed by the weight of each factor:
1. Race/Ethnicity Diversity
2. Financial Need
3. Geography: Priority will be given to students applying from underrepresented states. For individuals, priority will be given to people farther than a 10 hour drive each way in order to insure young people are present from all across the country.
4. Transportation: If you are within driving distance, what type of transportation are you using? Is it a hybrid, bio-diesel or vegetable-oil powered? Are you carpooling? Are you biking?
5. Matching Grant: Are you able to match a portion of what we are able to offer you with your own fundraising?
6. Lobby Day: A key component of Power Shift! Are you and/or your group staying for Lobby Day?
