Directions to Cole Field House

DRIVING (CAR AND BUS)
From points North on I-95 South

For Cars
1. Take exit 27 for I-495 W toward Silver Spring/Bethesda
2. Keep left at the fork, follow signs for US-1/College Park and merge onto Capital Beltway/I-495 E
3. Take exit 25B-A for Baltimore Blvd/US-1 S toward College Park
4. Merge onto Baltimore Ave/US-1 for 1 mile
5. Turn right on University Blvd. for 1.8 miles
6. Turn sharp left on Campus Drive
7. Park on the left in lots 1c, 1d, or 1b between Presidents Dr and Valley Dr

For Buses

1. Follow directions above to Campus Dr
2. Proceed on Campus Drive for 0.6 miles then bear left on Campus Drive at the intersection of Campus Dr and Chapel Dr
3. Cole Field House is on the left. After dropping off students continue on Campus Dr for another 0.7 miles
4. Turn left on Paint Branch Drive and proceed 0.2 miles
5. Park buses in lots 11c, 9b, or 9c on the left or 11b or 4i on the right.

From Points East on US-50 W

For Cars

1. Take exit 7B on the right to merge onto Capitol Beltway / I-495 N / I-95 N. Proceed for 3.8 miles
2. Take exit 22A on the right for Balt/Wash Pkwy N toward Baltimore for 0.4 miles
3. Merge onto MD-295 N and stay to the right for 0.2 miles
4. Exit onto Greenbelt Rd/MD-193 W toward Greenbelt and proceed for 2.6 miles
5. Stay right and Greenbelt becomes University Blvd. Continue on University for 2.5 miles
6. Turn sharp left on Campus Drive
7. Park on the left in lots 1c, 1d, or 1b between Presidents Dr and Valley Dr

For Buses

From Points West on I-66 E

For Cars

1. Take exit 64B Capital Beltway/I-495 N toward Baltimore for 20 miles
2. Take exit 28B for MD-650/New Hampshire Ave. toward Takoma Park for 0.7 miles
3. Turn left on Adelphi Rd for 2.3 miles
4. Bear left on Campus Drive
5. Park on the left in lots 1c, 1d, or 1b between Presidents Dr and Valley Dr

For Buses

From Points North and West on I-270 S

For Cars

1. Merge onto Capital Beltway/I-495 E soon after exit 4 on I-270 S. Stay on I-495 for 7.4 miles
2. Take exit 28B for MD-650/New Hampshire Ave. toward Takoma Park for 0.7 miles
3. Turn left on Adelphi Rd for 2.3 miles
4. Bear left on Campus Drive
5. Park on the left in lots 1c, 1d, or 1b between Presidents Dr and Valley Dr

For Buses

6. Follow directions above to Campus Dr
7. Proceed on Campus Drive for 0.6 miles then bear left on Campus Drive at the intersection of Campus Dr and Chapel Dr

1. Merge onto I-395 N (follow signs for Tysons Corner/Washington/I-395 N/I-495)
2. Take exit 170B for Capital Beltway/I-495 N toward Tysons Corner. Proceed for 29 miles
3. Take exit 28B for MD-650/New Hampshire Ave. toward Takoma Park for 0.7 miles
4. Turn left on Adelphi Rd for 2.3 miles
5. Bear left on Campus Drive
6. Park on the left in lots 1c, 1d, or 1b between Presidents Dr and Valley Dr

For Buses

From Washington, Dc (NE/SE), Via Us 1 North

For Cars

1. Take Rhode Island Ave. (U.S. 1 North)
2. Rhode Island Ave. (U.S. 1 North) becomes Baltimore Ave. North at the Maryland/D.C. line
3. Turn left on East West Hwy for 0.5 miles
4. Turn right on Adelphi Rd for 1.5 miles
5. Turn right on Campus Dr
6. Park on the left in lots 1c, 1d, or 1b between Presidents Dr and Valley Dr

For Buses

PUBLIC TRANSPORTATION

Directions from the Metro to Cole Field House

1. Take the Green Line train toward Greenbelt.
2. Get off at the College Park/ U of MD station.

On foot…

1. Take the Calvert Rd exit (West) out of the station.
2. Go 2 blocks on Calvert Rd.
3. Right on Rhode Island Ave. for 1 block.
4. Left on Knox Road for 5 blocks.
5. Right on Baltimore Ave. for 2 blocks.
6. Left onto University of Maryland campus on Regents Drive for about 7 minutes.
7. At the traffic circle left on Campus Drive for 5 minutes. Cole Field House will be on the right.

UMD Shuttle…

1. Take the EAST exit out of the College Park Metro Station
2. Look for the Shuttle-UM
3. Get off at Stamp Student Union
4. Continue along Campus Drive to the Cole Field House

MARC from Baltimore (Inner Harbor)

1. Take the Camden Line train (toward Washington, DC); get off at the College Park station.
2. Follow directions from the Metro

Amtrak

1. To Washington, DC (Union Station): Transfer to Metrorail system.
2. Follow directions from the Metro

TO UMD BY PLANE

The University of Maryland is served by three major airports - Reagan Washington National (DCA), Baltimore-Washington International (BWI), and Washington Dulles (IAD). Following are suggestions for travel to campus from these airport locations.

Reagan Washington National (DCA)

* Located in Arlington, Virginia, this airport is located about 15 miles south of College Park. Travel can be slow through downtown Washington, DC during rush hours; approximate driving time is 40 minutes.
* You can take the Metrorail from the airport.
o Take the Yellow Line (toward Mt. Vernon Square/Ft. Totten), transferring to the Green Line (toward Greenbelt), and get off at College Park/U of MD station.
o Follow directions from the Metro
* Super Shuttle is also a convenient option. The cost for one way trip is $26 for the first passenger and $8 for each additional guest.
* Taxi service from the airport to campus will cost approximately $30.00.

Baltimore-Washington International Thurgood Marshall (BWI)

* Located just outside Baltimore, this airport is approximately 25 miles north of College Park. Driving time is approximately 35 minutes.
* MARC Train service is available from the BWI Rail Station to College Park.
o Follow directions for MARC
* You can also take the Metrobus B30 to Greenbelt, transfer to Metrorail's Green Line (toward Branch Ave.), and get off at College Park/U of MD. Follow directions from the metro station.
* Super Shuttle is also a convenient option. The cost of a one way trip is $29 for the first passenger and $12 for each additional guest.
* Taxi service from the airport to campus will cost approximately $50.00.

Washington Dulles International (IAD)

* Located near Herndon, Virginia, this airport is about 35 miles southwest of College Park. Driving time is approximately one hour.
* You can take the Metrobus 5A then the Metro from the airport.
o Bus service is available to take you to the L'Enfant Plaza Metro station where you will take the Green Line (toward Greenbelt) and get off at College Park/U of MD station.
o Follow directions from the Metro.
* Super Shuttle is also a convenient option. The cost for a one way trip is $36 for the first passenger and $8 for each additional guest.
* Taxi service from the airport to campus will cost approximately $70.00.
